MTPConnect proudly supported the development and launch of a new report from ANDHealth – ‘Digital Health: Creating a New Growth Industry for Australia. Dan was on hand for the launch, held in the offices of AllensLinklaters in Melbourne on Tuesday. It details how healthcare consumers can benefit from world-leading technologies and how Australia can create a fully-fledged digital health industry.

CT:IQ Steering Committee Meeting
Dan attended the CT:IQ Steering Committee Meeting on Wednesday, where consortium members gathered to discuss the outlook for 2019. Executive Director of CTTI Pamela Tenaerts shared her key lessons learned and Kylie Sproston from Bellberry Limited called for people to join the consortium to support the acceleration of clinical trials in Australia. CT:IQ aims to develop and implement recommendations that will improve the impact, quality and efficiency of clinical trials, leading to more rapid, lower cost and higher quality evaluation of healthcare interventions in Australia. The ‘Clinical Trials: Impact & Quality’ project is supported by MTPConnect.

Clinical Challenges Steering Committee Meeting
The final clinical challenges meeting is today, hosted at MTAA in Sydney. Invited industry representatives, clinicians and the BioMedTech Horizons steering committee will be voting and defining the unmet clinical needs. This will inform the second round of the BioMedTech Horizons program which MTPConnect administers on behalf of the Department of Health. Roundtables with clinicians investigating four therapeutic areas – trauma and emergency medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedics and cardiovacular - have been held in Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne in November.
