Kevin Pfleger Joins MTPConnect in Western Australia

MTPConnect and our partners, the Western Australian State Government and the University of Western Australia, are pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Kevin Pfleger as our Director Stakeholder Engagement for Western Australia.

MTPConnect CEO Dr Dan Grant says Associate Professor Pfleger brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.

“Kevin brings a deep understanding of the medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical ecosystem in Western Australia,” Dr Grant says.

“With a PhD in Molecular Endocrinology and Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh, Kevin has 20 years of biomedical research experience, 16 years of which in Western Australia.

“Along with his extensive network and abilities to bring together universities, medical research institutes, medtech and pharma companies and healthcare and training providers, Kevin is a biotech inventor and entrepreneur.

“Kevin joins us on a half-time secondment from the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and Centre for Medical Research, The University of Western Australia and will begin his role heading our WA Hub from 02 January 2019. Kevin will also maintain an halftime appointment at UWA.”

Located at UWA, in the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research building, the MTPConnect WA Hub is supporting growth of Western Australia’s burgeoning life sciences sector and the creation of new medical technology and pharmaceutical jobs. The Hub was jointly announced by the WA Minister for Innovation and ICT Dave Kelly and the Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Roger Cook in July, and is supported by the WA State Government’s New Industries Fund and UWA.
