Be a part of InnoHealth Australia - a German-Australian network

05 December 2017

InnoHealth Australia is the current initiative from 2017-2019 led by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The initiative aims to connect the Australian and the German healthcare research sector involving especially small and medium enterprises (SME). InnoHealth Australia is putting the first call to the German healthcare community, represented by the German Mittelstand (small and medium enterprises) as well as by researchers of Fraunhofer Institutes. Those who develop application-oriented technologies, products and/or processes and intend to convince experts in the field of advantages of their invention and/or innovation are encouraged to apply.

The deadline closes on December 15, 2017.

The second call addresses Australian top-researchers, individuals from an Australian university, research institution or R&D-oriented small and/or medium enterprise who can present an innovative project idea and want to get to know better the German healthcare research market. Applying for the second call closes February 28, 2018. German and Australian target groups are welcomed to apply with their innovative ideas considering the following areas:

  • eHealth and integrated care models
  • Precision health-care/individual health
  • Antibiotic resistance and antimicrobial research
  • Nutrition

A total of 10 applicants (consisting of one representative from a Fraunhofer Institute and one from an SME, respectively) will be selected and have the chance to participate in an InnovationWorkshop, which will take place from March 1-2, 2018 in Munich. This workshop will prepare the participants to develop sector know-how, intercultural understanding, and presentation skills to show their idea/innovation in Australia during the InnovationPlatform from April 10–11, 2018. The InnovationPlatform will take place in Melbourne and stakeholders from academia, industrial research, SMEs, big enterprises and multipliers from the health promotion policy, are invited. There will be a presentation of ten project/research ideas for the German and Australian healthcare market and a two-day networking event with matchmaking opportunities and thematic workshops.

The InnovationTour from 5th – 9th November 2018 will offer additional networking opportunities, since the 30 Australian top-researchers will visit several research institutions and companies in Germany during this week.
