Northern Research Pty Ltd
Project Title: PulseVAD Cardiac Assist System
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in today's society with one type having no known effective therapy and yet sufferers make up nearly half of the patient population.
Northern Research is engaged in the design and development of a novel type of Rotary Blood Pump assist device designed to treat these patients.
This device aims to be a world-first as at present none of the other cardiac assist devices is suitable for treating this condition.
The BMTH funding will allow the project to reach the next development milestone by demonstrating the safety and efficacy of the system as well as the generation of data, allowing us to secure further funding.
