The vision of the Australian Federal Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources (DISER) is to enable growth and productivity for globally competitive industries. To help realise this vision, the Department has four key objectives: supporting science and commercialisation, growing business investment and improving business capability, streamlining regulation and building a high performance organisation.

Falling under the Department, the Industry Growth Centres Initiative (the Initiative) is an industry-led approach driving innovation, productivity and competitiveness by focusing on areas of competitive strength and strategic priority, to help Australia transition into smart, high value and export focused industries.

The Initiative enables national action on key issues such as regulation reform, skills, collaboration and commercialisation. It drives excellence, not dependence and will create an economy that ensures Australia’s ongoing prosperity.
