Challenge-Based Innovation Forum

Our CEO and Chair attended the 2019 Challenge-based Innovation Forum in Canberra where experts from around the world explored how innovation-based challenges are helping organisations solve real-world problems in both public and private sectors. The forum took guidance from programs such as the SBRI/STTR Australia and is poised to expand the use of challenge-based innovation to creating opportunities for business, research and government to work together to solve real-world problems. During the Forum our CEO also met with Zeina Tata from XPRIZE to explore Australia’s neuroscience capabilities as they develop their next Challenge focused on identifying predictive biomarkers Alzheimer’s Disease. Since 1994, XPRIZE has designed and launched seventeen prizes in the domain areas of Space, Oceans, Learning, Health, Energy, Environment, Transportation, Safety and Robotics.

French-Australian Science and Technology Workshop

Our CEO attended the French-Australian Science and Technology Workshop in Canberra. This was one of six thematic workshops aligned to a visit by a French delegation headed by the French Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Frédérique Vidal. The visit was coordinated by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and by the French Embassy. The workshop was hosted by the Australian National University and CSIRO to provide an opportunity for informal bilateral discussion about areas of current research and opportunities to strategically increased collaboration.

Happy one-year anniversary NSW Start-Up Hub

Alfredo attended the NSW Government’s start-up hub event in Sydney, showcasing and supporting the start-up ecosystem. The facility is now home to 615 emerging start-ups, connecting businesses and helping them thrive.

Cidada Innovation MedLab Demo Day

The inaugural Cicada Innovations MedLab demo day, unveiled the work of up-and-coming world-class medtech business builders with a record crowd of 500+ people attending. This included medtech enthusiasts including domestic and international investors.

Pitching at The Actuator

This week, Sandhya attended The Actuator’s Medtech Actuator investor forum in Melbourne, which was at full-capacity. The audience heard pitches from some of its early cohort including, Navi, Lenexa, Helios and Stelect.

Steering Committee for Adaptive Regulation of Digital Health

Sandhya, Elizabeth and Dan attended a meeting of the Steering Committee for Adaptive Regulation of Digital Health, continuing our work with regulatory bodies and key sector stakeholders to explore pathways for digital health opportunities.
