17 Projects Funded through BMTH & BTB Programs

To cap off a stellar year, we released the news that 9 projects in Round 2 of the BioMedTech Horizons program and 8 projects in Round 1 of the Biomedical Translation Bridge program will receive a total of $14.8 million in MRFF funding. The projects will leverage a further $25 million in contributions from industry. Together, these latest rounds of BMTH and BTB are injecting nearly $40 million into the MTP sector to support early stage research! BTB Round 2 Information Session – Perth

We hosted the second Round 2 Information Session, this time in Perth at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. We were joined by our BTB partners BioCurate’s Eric Hayes, UniQuest’s Mark Ashton and MDPP’s Andrew Milligan, to engage with the thriving WA medtech and life sciences sector. BMTH Round 3 Closed

We have closed Round 3 EOIs for the BMTH program and applicants will be notified in March 2020 about progress to stage two.

Frugal Innovation Report Launched

The MTPConnect team joined Asialink Business to launch a new report Frugal Innovation in Medical Devices and Technologies: The India Opportunity at the State Library of Victoria. The report, supported by Austrade, highlights the growing opportunities for future-focused Australian medical technologies businesses in India. Adaptive Regulation for Digital Health Steering Committee

The 10th meeting of the Adaptive Regulation for Digital Health Steering Committee was held via teleconference on 6 December 2019. Joining us for the meeting were representatives from the CSIRO, the University of Queensland, ANDHealth, Allens and the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. The Steering Committee is working to finalise a new report examining how Australian digital health industry stakeholders are engaging with the Australian therapeutic goods regulatory framework which we’re looking to release in the first half of the new year.

West Tech Fest in WA
