While MTPConnect couldn’t attend the 2020 BIO International Convention in the United States due to COVID-19 lockdown, we made sure Federal Minister for Health Hon. Greg Hunt MP could represent Australia’s medtech, biotech and pharma sectors virtually.

In partnership with AusBiotech, we worked with the Minister and his team to take part in sessions on the agenda including, the ‘International Plenary: How are Global Leaders Collaborating to Combat the Pandemic?. The Minister appeared with other global healthcare and business leaders to discuss efforts to come together to fight COVID-19. This was a historic moment, as it was the first time any sitting Federal Minister for Health had ever participated in the BIO event.

Delegates participated in BIO 2020 virtually from 8-12 June, with over 7,000 participants from 64 countries across 28 time zones convening for thought-provoking conversations and BIO One-on-One Partnering, showcasing the progress that the biotechnology industry is making to combat poor health, disease and the COVID pandemic, and beyond.

MTPConnect hope to organise an Australian delegation to BIO International Convention next year.
