New Appointments at MTPConnect

Today we are pleased to announce the following appointments relating to our MRFF supported programs; Researcher Exchange and Development within Industry (REDI), Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA) and the Biomedical Translation Bridge (BTB).

We can advise that Jarrod Belcher has been appointed Director of the REDI initiative, based in Melbourne. Jarrod will be working closely with our REDI research, training and industry partners to drive skills development and workforce training in the sector. He comes to us from Site Group International, an ASX listed company providing Australian accredited and non-accredited training programs around the world, where he was most recently General Manager - Middle East North Africa. Throughout his career, he has been a passionate workforce development professional committed to assisting companies and industries achieve their potential through skilling workforces, across the Pacific, Asia and Middle East with government, NGO and corporate clients. Jarrod has a background in the biosciences, with a BSc from the University of Melbourne and postgraduate qualifications in training and education and competitive manufacturing.

In relation to our new TTRA for Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease, Lauren Kelly, who was Director of Biomedical Translation Bridge program, has been promoted to the role of Senior Director TTRA. Lauren is leading this new integrated research program to improve the management and treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease (D&CVD) in Australia. Joining the TTRA team is Libby Pearce who has accepted a promotion as Senior Manager, Operations & Events to provide support to Lauren and program partners.

Following Lauren’s move, Danielle Shand, has been promoted to Director of the Biomedical Translation Bridge program, after working in the BTB Program for the last year as Manager, Operations & Events. Danielle will manage research funding rounds and continue to work closely with BTB partners BioCurate, UniQuest, MDPP and the Bridge and BridgeTech programs.
