The WA Medical Datathon is looking for participants from a variety of sectors including healthcare, digital technologies, data science and product design to get involved and ‘reimagine healthcare’ by exploring data science driven solutions to healthcare challenges.

The event marks a major collaboration between two of WA’s Innovation Hubs, the MTPConnect WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub and the WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH), who are partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and and the Telethon Kids Institute, to run the Datathon.

WADISH is hosting an Introductory Webinar on 21 October to provide the necessary information for participants keen to join the Datathon event.

The Medical Datathon officially kicks off with a launch event on Friday 6 November at 6pm AWST at the Telethon Kids Institute. It includes four Weekend Collaboration Sessions held over two weekends: 7-8 and 14-15 November where participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to tackle various healthcare challenges.

The teams will consist of challenge owners, healthcare workers, data scientists, and other technical professionals. Each team will be supported by an AWS technical professional to help them navigate data sets, while using the AWS analytics platform.

The Datathon will culminate in a pitch event where teams present their solutions, and the winning team will be awarded a year of AWS support to continue developing their solution.

If you are interested in participating, register here to join the Introductory Webinar, and get involved in the Datathon.
