In August, the MTPConnect WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub is hosting not one but TWO events in Perth as part of its popular WA MTP Sector Spotlight Series.

On Tuesday, 10 August, MTPConnect’s Director Stakeholder Engagement WA Dr Tracey Wilkinson will be joined by Dr Simon Graindorge, Entrepreneur-in-Residence, IP Group Australia & COO, OncoRes Medical and Colin La Galia, CEO & Managing Director, Epichem. They will discuss future opportunities for growing the WA MTP sector and explore how entrepreneurship and an international focus can help get us there.

Dr Simon Graindorge has extensive international experience investing in, building and growing start-ups, early stage and emerging growth companies based on early-stage, deep tech innovations from leading research institutions. Colin La Galia founded Epichem, a leading provider of synthetic and medicinal chemistry services with an international customer base, after working for some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies.

They will bring their business insights and international experience in Europe and Asia to the discussion.

Then on 26th August, we will spotlight Lawley Pharmaceuticals and its Founder, CEO and Medical Director Michael Buckley.  Lawley Pharmaceuticals, established in 1995, is a Perth-based privately owned company specialising in advancing the clinical research and development of transdermal testosterone and progesterone creams for men and women.

Pharmacist Michael Buckley is on a mission to establish naturally occurring hormones as cornerstone treatments for diseases such as breast cancer, infertility, sexual dysfunction, male hypogonadism, type 2 diabetes, primary ovarian insufficiency (early menopause), osteoporosis and postpartum depression.

The company’s products are manufactured in TGA-approved facilities located in Perth, Western Australia. The company has established strong links with centres of medical research excellence around the world and continues to push boundaries in this rapidly expanding area of medicine.
