As part of its commitment to opening international markets and boosting access to international supply chains, MTPConnect has joined the AusBiotech-led Australian Pavilion as co-exhibitor at the BIO International Convention 2022 in San Diego, California.

MTPConnect is helping to re-introduce Australia’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical capabilities to the world after two years of pandemic travel restrictions, as the BIO International Convention returns as an in-person event.

BIO is the largest business partnering event for the sector in the world with around 17,000 participants expected to attend over a four-day program from 13-16 June.

MTPConnect Interim CEO Stuart Dignam says it’s important Australia seize the opportunity to showcase its outstanding biotech medical products capabilities and expertise on the world stage.

“To succeed in the ultra-competitive global marketplace, Australia needs to continue putting MTP sector companies and stakeholders in front of international customers,” Mr Dignam said.

“After two years of lockdown, there is a strategic opportunity to reintroduce and reconnect Australian medical products companies to the world with a strong message that Australia is ‘open for business’.

“I encourage anyone who’s eyeing the US market or considering broader global connections for their innovations to consider attending BIO and tapping into the resources of the Australian Pavilion which provides a high-profile hub for companies to use for forging and extending business alliances.

“As co-exhibitor on the Australian Pavilion, along with the state governments of Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia and a number of companies, we’ll be actively promoting access to international supply chains and export opportunities, partnerships and increased deal-flow, all of which support job creation,” Mr Dignam said.
