Recently the TTRA program’s team and the two TTRA Research Centres - ACADI and ASHRA - were invited to be involved in the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Thought Leadership Film series. The TTRA Research Centres film is one of only 10 groups being showcased at the 82nd American Diabetes Association conference held this year in New Orleans US (3-7 June 2022) and virtually.

The film is helping to spread the word about Australia’s new integrated, collaborative TTRA Research Centres program which is supported with $20 million from the Medical Research Future Fund. It’s a bold initiative which is taking a new approach to improve the prevention, management and treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease for patients and their families.

We are excited to show you the film, shot in Melbourne, which is now available on ADA TV’s YouTube!

Throughout the conference, the film will also be shared on Twitter, broadcast on screens in high visibility areas throughout the Center where the Conference is being run, and in participating delegate hotels on ‘ADA TV programs’. The footage is expected to reach thousands of people attending in person, virtually and via social media.

“On behalf of the TTRA program, I would like to thank all of those involved in helping to create the film, in front of and behind the camera,” said Senior Director TTRA Program, Lauren Kelly.

“Thanks to the team at ACADI - including their film stars Director A/Prof Elif Ekinci, Diabetic Kidney Disease Co-Lead Prof Josephine Forbes, and Indigenous Advisory Committee Chair Ray Kelly.

“Thanks to the team at ASHRA - including their film stars Director Prof Clara Chow, Deputy Director Prof Steve Nicholls, and Indigenous Lead Prof Alex Brown.
