The Operations team from the Clinical Translation and Commercialisation Medtech (CTCM) program, including representatives from program partners Medical Device Partnering Program, MTAA and Cicada Innovations, gathered in Melbourne recently and took a tour of the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication (MCN)

Joined by the wider MTPConnect staff and the team from Melbourne-based Navi Medical Technologies, a Round 1 CTCM awardee, the tour provided an excellent opportunity to see first-hand the capabilities of this purpose-built, world class facility based in Clayton.

Thanks go out to ANFF's Oded Vanham and MCN's Sean Langelier, for their time in hosting the group's tour.

The centre is driving Australian innovation of micro/nano technologies in collaboration with research & industry, nationally and internationally.

The MCN is a member of the Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) which was founded in 2007 to overcome hurdles to R&D success by providing open access to micro and nanofabrication equipment, essential to Australia’s scientific and economic future. It was one of nine original research infrastructure facilities established under the Commonwealth’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) which provides researchers access to cutting edge national research infrastructure.

The MCN is is the flagship facility of ANFF-Victoria Node and a joint venture between seven Victorian universities (Monash, Melbourne, Deakin, RMIT, Swinburne, LaTrobe and Victoria University) and the CSIRO.
