CADRE-OCE
Building sovereign capabilities with Australian Defence, industry and academia
The Centre for Advanced Defence Research and Enterprise (CADRE-OCE) was established in 2023 at the University of Melbourne with funding from the Australian Defence “Operating in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Environments” (OCE) Science, Technology and Research (STaR Shot) program.
CADRE-OCE is a nationally coordinated program and a vital instrument of research, translation, and talent pipeline to advance the Australian Defence Force’s OCE capabilities. The Centre will work with trusted industry, academic and research partners to develop innovative technologies that will enhance Australia’s resilience against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.The Centre is a joint initiative of the OCE STaR Shot and the Founding Partners comprising University of Melbourne, University of Adelaide, Queensland University of Technology and University of New South Wales.
