Launched initially in 2022 through MTPConnect’s REDI program, (AUSCEP) was inspired by the highly successful UK National Health Service (NHS) Clinical Entrepreneur Program.
We recently marked the Industry Showcase for Cohort 3 (2024 – 2025), celebrating the participants’ progress and achievements over the last 12 months in Victoria and NSW.
The Sydney event was opened by Andrew Milat, Executive Director, Intelligence and Support for Innovation, Transformation and Evaluation at the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI), which is supporting the NSW cohort.
Andrew spoke about AUSCEP’s relevance to NSW Health’s newly launched Innovation and Research Strategy (May 2025) which highlights the Innovation Pipeline, a structured pathway designed to help ideas move effectively from concept to implementation across the NSW health system.
“The Innovation and Research Strategy targets five strategic areas that we want to focus on – essentially, it’s trying to do what you’re doing here. It’s about facilitating innovation through the system,” said Andrew Milat.
The showcases in both NSW and Victoria, saw each participant pitch their venture to a room full of industry partners, mentors, and alumni. And to make the most of the get together, some time was set aside for networking to forge new connections and collaborations.

Recruitment is now underway for the next AUSCEP cohort in Victoria (closing 20 June 2025), with updates for another NSW cohort to be announced soon.
