Through the Growth Centre Project Fund, MTPConnect has committed $15.6M across 36 collaborative projects, engaging over 160 consortium members.
MTPConnect-funded projects have achieved demonstrable results, including 68 technologies being invented or progressed, 37 patents/trademark applications and licenses, 11 start-up companies, 45 direct jobs being created and more than $6M of investment flowing into incubator companies (as at 30 June 2018).
MTPConnect also operates the Medical Research Future Fund’s $45 million BioMedTech Horizons (BMTH) program and the new $22.3 million Biomedical Translation Bridge (BTB) program. The BMTH program currently supports 11 projects and will deploy an additional $35M over the next three years. BTB will launch its first round of funding in FY2020. These projects are set to deliver results on a national scale that have sector-wide impact, including for SMEs, and creatively address barriers to growth as outlined in our 10-year Sector Competitiveness Plan.
