A number of key players are providing programs to inform, educate, and connect individuals and organisations to create an environment conducive to a thriving Australian market.

Events and Training Opportunities

ARCS Australia A not-for-profit offering professional development education and training for people working in the development of therapeutic goods; industry and non-industry personnel, irrespective of membership.
AusBiotech Australia’s biotechnology industry organisation has a professional development arm called BioProCourses, offering courses developed in consultation with industry leaders.
Bridge Program The Bridge Program operates to boost the value of Australian pharmaceutical research and collaborate to improve the quality and quantity of commercial deals that arise from the pharmaceutical research sector. The Bridge Program participants’ range from Australian mid-career scientists, academics, industry related professionals and entrepreneurs.
CERI Entrepreneurial Mindset Program The Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation offers a program focused on inspiring participants to think beyond the world of academia and help them develop an entrepreneurial way of thinking. The goal being to translate their ideas and world-class research into real-world solutions, thereby contributing to a vibrant and more sustainable economic ecosystem.

Incubator Support

provides grant funding to incubators to deliver support services and training information to Australian start-ups with an international focus. Professionals are able to apply for grants to support their establishment of new incubators in regions or sectors with high innovation potential, and for existing incubators looking to expand their services. Funded incubators will deliver a range of activities designed to improve the prospects of commercial success of innovative start-ups, allowing them to realise their economic potential faster than they otherwise would.
Engineers Australia

Engineers Australia provide professional development services for the engineering profession, including knowledge of nanoscience, nanotechnology and nanoengineering.

Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) IMNIS runs an industry mentoring network program in medtech and pharma across four Australian states and looking to expand nationally in the future. The program facilitates a platform for industry mentors to engage with eager and highly motivated PhD students from across the country to upskill, break down barriers and transition from education to industry.

MedTech Boardroom Stimulator

A support program for start-ups, SMEs and larger companies whereby eligible medical technology companies can access mentorship from an industry experts ‘sounding board’ to help identify collaborative opportunities, refine strategy and brainstorm specific challenges in a virtual boardroom scenario.

MedTech Insight Series

This monthly (typically the 3rd Thursday of every month) event has a 1-hour BYO lunch workshop, followed by 1-1 consultations with expert service providers. Praxis Australia

PRAXIS Australia is an NFP/Charity, formed in mid-2015 as a result of the vision of its members, University of Sydney, Bellberry Ltd, and Monash University (through its partner, Global Reconciliation Ltd). The mission of PRAXIS is to enhance the understanding and practice of ethical research for the benefit of the broader community, which is achieved via the creation and application of various training and education models.
