About the Event

The international biotech community will gather for the 17th International Biotechnology Symposium and Exhibition (IBS 2016) in Melbourne, Australia - one of the world’s greatest biotech hubs.

IBS is organised under the auspices of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) since 1960 and is the most representative biotechnology event at the global level, at which more than 1,000 participants congregate from academia and industry, to explore the advances and frontiers of science and applied biotechnologies.

The IBS 2016 program will present the most advanced issues in biotechnology, green chemistry and its related fields, which will be discussed by a selected group of international speakers and lecturers. Topics will include agri-business; industrial and environmental biotechnology; pharmaceutical, medical and molecular; bioenergy and bio-refinery; the bio-economy, policy and investment; and biosensors and nanotechnology.

IBS 2016 will held as one of three major events that together make up the International BioFest 2016, Australia’s largest-ever gathering of the life sciences.
