The R&D Commercialisation conference

Our CEO Dr Dan Grant delivering a keynote address at the R&D Commercialisation conference in Sydney, attended by leaders from Australia’s R&D community. His presentation - ‘Fostering Industry Growth - Building Strong Relationships To Share Expertise & Knowledge' – addressed the importance of the MTP sector to Australia’s R&D activities and provided key insights on strategies to drive the sector forward to stimulate economic growth and job creation.

Biomedical Translation Fund (BTF) Committee Meeting

MTPConnect’s CEO Dr Dan Grant presented at the BTF meeting in Canberra on the impact of our programs, the Project Fund, BioMedTech Horizons and the Biomedical Translation Bridge (BTB) Program. The presentation was a great way to showcase the strengths and the progress of all our projects and highlight key milestones.

BioMelbourne Network’s Device and Diagnostics Lab

GM International & Government Dr Sandhya Tewari and GM Stakeholder Engagement Dr Alfredo Martinez-Coll attended the seventh annual Devices and Diagnostics Lab organised by the BioMelbourne Network. The event highlighted the importance of improving outcomes and delivering value across the healthcare supply chain and key strategies and trends in a focused patient-centric approach to developing medical technology.

The full-day event featured speakers in plenary presentations, panel sessions, case study presentations and interactive Q&A sessions. Its Chair, Lusia Guthrie bid a farewell to BioMelbourne Network’s outgoing CEO Dr Krystal Evans who has been at the helm for the last five years and has initiated many new programs and initiatives, cementing BioMelbourne Network’s leadership in the sector.

Herston Biofabrication Institute Inaugural Conference

Sandhya was on hand to support the Herston Biofabrication Institute’s Inaugural Conference in Queensland. The theme of the Conference, Building Real World Clinical Impact, provided attendees an opportunity to hear about medtech innovations in the space of Biofabrication and advanced medical materials and manufacturing. MTPConnect is proud to support the Herston Biofabrication Institute through Growth Centre Project Fund Program.

MTPConnect Podcast

This week, MTPConnect released an episode featuring Health Horizon’s Co-Founder Mathew McGann and our Director Major Projects Elizabeth Stares. The episode tracked the progress of the Health Horizon’s project, supported through the Growth Centre Project Fund Program, which focused on developing a platform to showcase Australian health innovations from conception to possible product.

AusBiotech’s WA BioCheers

A/Prof Kevin Pfleger attended AusBiotech’s WA BioCheers hosted by Telethon Kids Institute and City of Perth. The highlight was the joint announcement of a WA delegation to BIO2019 in Philadelphia in June, which will be jointly led by the WA Government’s Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, and the City of Perth.
