Organisational Refresh for MTPConnect

20 May 2019

MTPConnect is pleased to announce that with the continued funding of our Growth Centre along with securing two new programs worth $67.3 million to implement and operate for the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), we have refreshed the organisational structure to focus our resources on delivering these three initiatives and driving the next phase of our growth and the sector’s growth.

Chief Executive Officer Dr Dan Grant joins the MTPConnect Board as Managing Director and continues in his role as CEO.

Stuart Dignam has been promoted from General Manager Corporate Communications & Policy to become Chief Operating Officer to support Dr Grant in delivering and executing the expanded portfolio of programs.

In addition to its Growth Centre funding, renewed by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science for an additional two years in December last year, MTPConnect will now operate the $22.3 million Biomedical Translation Bridge program and the next tranche ($35 million) of the BioMedTechHorizons program, both through the Department of Health’s MRFF endowment.

Both of the MRFF programs support development of innovative new therapies and technologies towards proof-of-concept and commercialisation and complement our existing Growth Centre initiatives.

Three new business units are being established to align with the three program areas, focusing organisational resources to ensure timely and efficient program delivery.

MTPConnect Chair, Sue MacLeman, says the organisational restructure means MTPConnect is well-placed to deliver the current and future programs.

“Dan has been successful in his role as CEO and with his knowledge and expertise in the MTP sector we are delighted he’s agreed to join the board as Managing Director.

“With Dan’s leadership and strong support from Stuart as COO and the expanded team we’re confident MTPConnect will continue to have an important role in the sector and deliver on our program responsibilities efficiently and effectively to support the success of Australia’s growing MTP sector.”
