About the Event

The WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub invites you to our next WA MTP Sector Spotlight Series event, a fireside chat focused on medtech commercialisation with Jill Anderson (OncoRes Medical Non-Executive Director) sharing her experiences in the US and Dr Kath Giles (OncoRes Medical CEO/MD; Brandon Capital Venture Partner) providing the Australian perspective.

About our topic

During this event we will gain insights into medtech commercialisation from two leaders, a successful founder from the US and the CEO of fast-growing WA start-up, OncoRes Medical.

OncoRes Medical’s Non-Executive Director Ms Jill Anderson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise about the American medtech landscape. Jill has extensive experience as the Co-Founder, President and CEO of Cianna Medical (acquired in 2018 for $200M), as well as Director of OncoRes, Minerva Surgical and Merit Medical Systems.

OncoRes Medical’s CEO and MD Dr Kath Giles will offer insights from her experience as a business leader, clinician, innovator and investor, and her perspective on what it takes to commercialise medtech in WA.

Through this fireside chat led by WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub’s Dr Tracey Wilkinson, we aim to foster a vibrant conversation about what it takes to successfully bring a novel medical technology to market to benefit patients. Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur, industry professional, investor, or simply interested in the field, this event promises to provide valuable perspectives on the global medtech industry.

About this event

Our monthly event series is an opportunity for representatives from across the MTP sector to connect, collaborate and learn about upcoming opportunities, and hear the stories and successes of WA organisations developing health and medical innovations. Join us for networking and conversation over light refreshments afterwards.

We’re pleased to be delivering this event in partnership with The Centre for Entrepreneurial Research and Innovation (CERI), a social enterprise supporting the next generation of WA’s entrepreneurs. Their programs have been designed to educate and empower early-stage entrepreneurs, PhD students and visionaries within the WA community.
