About the Event

Are you looking for opportunities to bring your research to commercial viability?

The Translational Research Institute (TRI) and the Queensland Government invite you to hear from MTPConnect, the Australian Government’s Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals Industry Growth Centre, about the opportunities they offer for fostering the connections and collaborations needed to facilitate the translation of research and drive commercial success.

MTPConnect is a not-for-profit organisation formed in November 2015 as part of the Federal Government's $248 million Industry Growth Centres Initiative. Their mission is to accelerate the rate of growth of the medical technologies and pharmaceuticals industry to achieve greater commercialisation and establish Australia as an Asia-Pacific hub for MTP companies.

TRI and the Queensland Government are keen to facilitate the commercial translation of biomedical research in the state.

The Translational Research Institute (TRI) is a unique, Australian-first initiative of ‘bench to bedside’ medical research. TRI combines clinical and translational research to advance progress from laboratory discovery to application in the community.

Through the Department of State Development, the Queensland Government is developing a Biomedical and Life Sciences 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan to diversify Queensland's industry base, create high-value, well paid, knowledge-based jobs and drive export growth.

The event will be chaired by Professor Ian Frazer, and include speakers from MTPConnect and other industry experts.

Join us for some afternoon tea and networking following the event.
