Now in its 6th year, this cross-organisational Mentoring program aims to support mid-career women working in health and medical research ecosystem on their journey to leadership roles. It also connects and develops leaders of any gender in effective mentoring skills and inclusive leadership practices - essential for leading diverse and effective teams.

In 2022 the unique program will be delivered in both Sydney and Canberra, commencing on 19 May 2022.

It is a 6-month facilitated program that combines informal meetings between mentees and mentors with a number of professionally facilitated workshops and events.

The Franklin Women Mentoring Program has a number of qualities which have led to its success and impact including:

  • Detailed matching process connecting mentees with mentors from outside their own organisation
  • Professionally facilitated by leadership consultants with deep understanding of the sector
  • Has been evaluated to demonstrate its impact on mentees, mentors and their organisations

“Participation in the program is a great opportunity to retain and develop women in Biotech and Medtech companies, and create inclusive cultures within organisations," said Dr Melina Georgousakis, Founder Franklin Women.

"It also helps build networks with current and emerging leaders in health spanning academia, health care and industry.”

“As participation in the program by the medtech and biotech industry also results in the nomination of their leaders as mentors, it will tap-into a future talent base by building bridges into industry," said Dr Georgousakis.

To date, over 300 women have been through the program as mentees.

The cost for 6-month facilitated mentoring program is $4,450 (for both a mentee and mentor who get matched within the total cohort). Applications for mentees and mentors can be submitted via the Application portal by Thursday 14th April 2022
