The inclusive veski inspiring women STEM sidebyside program, established in 2018, is a leadership program that supports women wanting to progress or extend their leadership positions within a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) industry.

The dynamic program of workshops and networking opportunities is designed to empower women at different career stages with the skills, networks and mindset to develop and achieve their career goals.

With women continuing to be under-represented at leadership levels across Australia, the veski inspiring women STEM sidebyside mid-career leaders program goes some way to addressing this challenge, and is designed to support women wanting to progress or extend into leadership positions within a STEM industry enabling them to better foster and generate organisational cultural change and pave the way for future generations.

The program in 2023 is exclusively for a cohort of 31 competitively selected mid-career women from across Academia, Industry, Government and the Not for Profit sector, aspiring to secure a senior leadership position.

MTPConnect is delighted to announce that Lauren Kelly, the Senior Director of our TTRA Program has been selected to join the program. Lauren leads the $47 million Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA) initiative for diabetes and cardiovascular disease, an initiative of the Medical Research Future Fund delivered by MTPConnect.

Lauren applied for the veski program because it is committed to creating a professional development program that caters to both industry professionals as well as academics in the STEM sector.

"I am eager to connect with others who have taken a similar career path to me, as well as those who have had a diverse career journey. Cognitive distance sparks innovative thinking, and I am looking forward to learning from other emerging leaders, having access to trailblazing facilitators, participating in immersive conversations, and taking the opportunity for self-reflection.

"The veski STEM sidebyside program will be a significant launch pad to harness my potential that my diverse experience and education can afford me, while being of value to the STEM sector across academia, industry, Government and not-for-profits. It will lead me to be a better mentor, manager, team member and advocate for women in STEM," said Lauren.

Congratulations Lauren!
