Early Results Are In – TTRA Program is Delivering Impact at Halfway Mark
MTPConnect has published a new report, Transforming health outcomes for diabetes and cardiovascular disease in Australia – Interim report on impacts of the first Targeted Translation Research Accelerator' which shows MTPConnect’s Targeted Translation Research Accelerator (TTRA) program for diabetes and cardiovascular disease is already delivering benefits and novel health solutions for Australian patients and the health sector – just over halfway through its duration. The report captures the achievements to date of the two national Research Centres established – the Australian Centre for Accelerating Diabetes Innovations (ACADI) and the Australian Stroke and Heart Research Accelerator (ASHRA) – and the 22 individual Research Projects funded, which have been collectively awarded $38.3 million in competitive funding.

MTPConnect Team Tours ZiP Diagnostics’ Melbourne HQ
MTPConnect CEO Stuart Dignam and BMTH Director Dr Gerard Gibbs visited ZiP Diagnostics in Melbourne meeting with CEO Dr Jack Richards and the team for a tour of their impressive headquarters, laboratory and manufacturing facilities in Collingwood, Victoria. ZiP Diagnostics is an Australian grown biotech developing and manufacturing world-leading point of care testing for infectious diseases with PCR accuracy and RAT speed! The company has established a sovereign manufacturing base, with all significant components of the test system domestically produced including assays, cartridges and instruments. And it can all be scaled up! MTPConnect backed their innovation through our BioMedtech Horizons (BMTH) accelerator program, aimed at an MRFF initiative, which is making home-grown medical products a reality and building critical sovereign manufacturing capability.

WACHCI Expert Workshop Series in Perth

Congratulations to the Adelaide-based healthtech businesses who were selected to participate in the inaugural Global Market Navigator Program, including Personify Care, Sementis, Fusetec 3D, Osteo-X, Protego Medical, RehabSwift, Innovatus Technology, Corcillum Systems, Addend.ai and ResearchSat. The Artificial Heart Frontiers Program - developing and commercialising the world’s most advanced artificial heart
The Australian Government is providing $50 million to develop and commercialise the world’s most advanced artificial heart, a technology that could halve deaths from heart failure globally. The investment from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) will support the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program bringing together the Monash University-led consortium including Industry partner BiVACOR, University partners - Monash University, University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Griffith University, and University of Queensland and Clinical partners - The Alfred, Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

ANDHealth Accelerator Cracks Australia’s Commercialisation Code with New Report
A new independent report by ANDHealth and published by L.E.K. Consulting, the Economic impact assessment of ANDHealth+ and Masterclass: ACCELERATE programs’ found that for every $1 invested into ANDHealth’s flagship accelerator, ANDHealth+, $19.70 in capital is raised and $4.2 in gross economic value is delivered by digital health SMEs. And for every $1 million invested, 56 jobs are created. MTPConnect was delighted to support the development of the report, and CEO Stuart Dignam joined ANDHealth CEO Ms Le Grice at Parliament House to speak about the importance of health innovation accelerator programs in driving jobs and growth in Australia.
