Bio Korea is one of the largest partnering conferences for the global biotech industry in North Asia and it’s due to kick off on 8 May and runs to 10 May 2024. In parallel with an Australian trade mission, MTPConnect is hosting two pre-conference workshops to promote Australia’s strengths in developing regenerative medicine and as a compelling destination to run clinical trials.

The workshops, being held in Seoul on 7 May 2024, will showcase Australian life sciences capabilities to South Korean companies. The two workshops are:

Workshop: Why Choose Australia for Your Clinical Trials?

This seminar will provide details about the clinical trial services available in Australia and the advantages of doing business in Australia, including its high quality and globally recognised health system and regulatory process, strong healthcare infrastructure and financial incentives.

Workshop: Partnering for Successful Regenerative Medicine Projects in Australia

This seminar will explore Australia's leading role in getting regenerative medicines to market and the advantages of partnering with Australian companies. You will hear first-hand about successful Korean collaborations with Australia and the opportunities for manufacturers and researchers in Korea within Australia's vibrant RM landscape.

Business partnering sessions are being organised after each workshop giving Korean companies the chance to meet with Australian companies and contacts. Networking sessions will also wrap up each event to give delegates the chance to make the most of the opportunities to connect and do business.

MTPConnect and Korea Health Industry Development Institute - promoting mutual opportunities.

MTPConnect shares a highly productive Memorandum of Understanding with the Korean Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) and CEO Stuart Dignam says the events at Bio Korea will further deepen the relationship and open-up business opportunities.

“With Bio Korea about to kick off, we are delighted to be hosting two important workshops with support from Austrade to bring together Australian and Korean companies to build stronger business relationships,” Mr Dignam said.

Working closely together to support life sciences in each country

“MTPConnect’s cooperation agreement with KHIDI sees us working closely together to support the growth of health and medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in each country and these Bio Korea activities are part of this effort to promote mutual opportunities.

“We are also working with KHIDI to host an ‘Open Innovation’ seminar at the BIO conference in San Diego in June and have other activities planned to strengthen connections between our countries,” said Mr Dignam.

It is all part of MTPConnect’s work to connect the life sciences ecosystem within Australia to key international markets like South Korea.
