Supporting the Annual Science Meets Parliament Address to the National Press Club
MTPConnect has once again supported the National Press Club Address by incoming Science and Technology Australia’s President Professor Sharath Sriram, as part of the ‘Science Meets Parliament’ initiative being delivered in Canberra. MTPConnect Chair Hon Jaala Pulford, with MTPConnect CEO Stuart Dignam hosted a table of guests including Bellberry's Kylie Sproston, CSIRO’s Erica Kneipp, Monash University's Professor Ian Meredith, Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering's Kylie Walker, Jamie Snashall from the Office of the Minister for Health, and Embassy of Switzerland in Australia's Science attaché Tristan Piguet. Pharma Partnering with MSD and Viatris
Austrade is offering two interactive pharma partnering webinars with MSD and Viatris. Session 1 with MSD is on 10 April 2024 and suited to researchers and companies across any stage of therapeutic or platform development. Session 2 with Viatris on 23 April 2024 is suited to companies at a clinical development stage, with advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapy not in scope.

MTPConnect Hosting Workshops in Seoul Ahead of Bio Korea 2024
For our upcoming trade mission to the Bio Korea conference, MTPConnect is hosting two workshops in Seoul on 7 May 2024 to promote opportunities for Korean companies in Australia. The workshops will highlight Australia's strengths in Regenerative Medicine and our Clinical Trials capabilities, and will involve presentations, case studies and 1:1 partnering meetings. AAMRNet Presents at AMR Conference Switzerland
Our AAMRNet Co Chair Andrew Bowskill stepped on to the stage during the AMR conference in Basel, Switzerland to give an update on our Australian Antimicrobial Resistance Network’s journey and catching up with AAMRNet partners and key international stakeholders fighting the threat of antimicrobial resistance at the AMR Action Fund Networking Reception.

International Women’s Day
Dr Mana Liao and Dr Duncan Macinnis joined the NSW Women in Life Sciences Luncheon on International Women’s Day, co-hosted by AusBiotech and Medicines Australia. The theme explored by the panel was Innovations in equality: Investing in the future of women in life sciences. CTCM Director Danielle Shand joined sponsors 4DMedicalXV and CEO Dr Andreas Fouras in Sydney to celebrate International Women’s Day at Lung Foundation Australia’s Women of Influence in Lung Health Dinner, celebrating the influence and achievements of women in the lung health research community!

CTCM Supports Launch of BridgeTech’s 2024 Program
The CTCM program supported the launch of the 2024 BridgeTech Program with Director Bridge Program and BridgeTech Program Professor Lyn Griffiths at Queensland University of Technology with Microbio and Life Sciences Queensland. The Bridgetech Program is an industry-led training program to enhance commercialisation skills to translate new devices and tech in AUS.

Our WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub recently hosted the WA-based team from the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), organising visits to WA-based companies that received funding through our BioMedTech Horizons (BMTH) program – Advanced Genetic Diagnostics, OncoRes Medical, Proteomics International, VitalTrace, Artrya Ltd, Cortical Dynamics Limited, and ClearDrum (Ear Science Institute Australia). MTPConnect Director Stakeholder Engagement WA, Dr Tracey Wilkinson said that the achievements from WA’s BMTH awardees are testament to the strong health and medical life sciences ecosystem in the state.
